Sermon for April 7th, 2019

The Crucified Life

Walk the road of Calvary with Jesus. Along the way, you will discover what areas of your life are stumbling blocks and how dying to self will enable you to rise to new life with Him. What better time to set out on that journey than the Lenten season?

The Crucified Life series will examine human suffering as it is mirrored in Christ’s suffering on the cross and what His seven last words say to a hurting world. Find incredible insights into these words as Jesus teaches us, even in death, how we can use our suffering and triumph over it for His glory.

“I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”-Galatians 2:20

Week 5- Abandonment

At noon, darkness fell across the whole land until three o’clock. At about three o’clock, Jesus called out with a loud voice, “Eli, Eli, lea sabachthani?” Which means “My God, my God, why have you abandoned me?”

Today we are going to explore the nature of abandonment. Jesus understood what it felt like to be abandoned even before the cross. He was abandoned by family, friends, followers and His Father in heaven. Jesus was abandoned so that we could be embraced.

Listen to the message today and be challenged by God’s Word.
