Sermon for April 8th, 2018
We are witnesses to God’s redemptive story that he has been working on all throughout history. We are witnesses to this plan in action. In the Old Testament we saw Phase One, Israel. God entrusted the Hebrew people with a message of worldwide hope and equipped them with the tools of the Law and the temple. Using patriarchs and prophets, trials and teachers, God clearly demonstrated he wants all his children to come home. Phase Two is Jesus of Nazareth. He came announcing, “I am the way, the truth and the life and no man comes to the Father except by me.” Jesus was big news and he was good news. He says “If you’re lost, I am the way back.” Phase Three is us, the church. What God began with Israel, what he accomplished through Christ, he continues and proclaims through the church. This is the message of the book of Acts: God never stops looking for lost children.
We try and cover a lot of material today…so buckle up and enjoy the ride.
Listen to the message today and be challenged by God’s Word.
