Sermon for April 16th, 2018
Saul/Paul was an unlikely candidate to carry the message of Christ to the world, and yet that is exactly who God chose. God makes sure that the messenger never believes that it is all about them. It is for God’s glory that he picks those who are longshots. The book of Acts is our story. This is where we fit into God’s story. The book of Acts is still being written today. We have the same commission on our lives as they had on theirs – to be witnesses in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. Our mission as a church is to be Jesus in OUR Jerusalem, in OUR Judea, in OUR Samaria. We are like the church at Antioch, equipping and sending out missionaries, not to foreign cities but to our city, neighborhoods, etc.
The church continues today in the same power of the Holy Spirit. There is a challenge set before you this week to go and talk to one person about Jesus and what He has done for you. Will you accept this challenge?
Listen to the message today and be challenged by God’s Word.
