Sermon for October 8th, 2017
Hundreds of years pass between Genesis and Exodus and they have not been kind years to the people that God has chosen. The Egyptians have decided that the Israelites are a threat not an asset so they begin to force hard labor and population controls on them. God will deliver them from their oppressors, but He will do so in a way in which foreshadows how He will rescue all people. God will use the hardened heart of Pharaoh to demonstrate His power and give us a glimpse of how He will deliver us.
We all are in need of deliverance. We have all sinned and fall short of the glory of God. We need to be delivered from the sin that separates us from God. We are unable to bridge that gap, it is only by the blood of the lamb. When the angel of death saw the blood of the lamb on the door posts of the Israelites they were spared. When the father sees the blood of His Son, the lamb of God, covering us we are saved. This is God’s story, but the Story is really all about us and how much He wants us back.
Listen to the message today and be challenged by God’s Word.
